In my world: Sparking up the imagination
We built a pretend campfire the other day in the field.
Gathered some twigs and sticks, stacked a small pile with them, and pretended to light the wood.
The kids have this romanticised idea of camping in the woods after watching a cartoon the other day. In their world, the thought of sitting around a fire, toasting marshmallows, and telling stories as the moon and stars light up the sky is wayyyy cool.
I just don’t have the heart at this point to tell them that camping in an equatorial climate like ours is just plain uncomfortable…In this current 32 deg C humidity, the last thing they’d want is to cosy up around a fire feeding mosquitoes as the sun sets.
But who am I to put a dampener in the precious imagination of our children’s minds… 😉
