Kids Say….”Why so worried?”

Every year as Chinese New Year approaches, I’ll start coaching the kids on a few key phrases in Chinese so we they can impress the older generation with our unparalleled parenting skills their filial piety and proficiency in flowery Chinese language well wishes to their elders. 😛

At this point we don’t know yet whether they’ll remember and apply perfectly what they’ve learnt, but I do remember two Chinese New Years back, when I tried teaching “Gong Xi Fa Cai, Xin Nian Kuai Le, Wan Shi Ru Yi” * to our then 22-month-old DD, she came up with….

“Gong Xi Fa Cai, Xin Nian Kuai Le…Why Sho Worried!”

Indeed. 😉

* Translations:

Gong Xi Fa Cai = Wishing you great wealth and prosperity.
Xin Nian Kuai Le = The New Year has arrived.
Wan Shi Ru Yi = May all things follow your wishes.
