In my world: Two by two

DS was playing quietly by himself one morning while I was finishing up breakfast with his sister. When we joined him in the room, we found he’d arranged this.

I asked him later what it was and he said “The animals went in two by two.”, making reference to the story of Noah’s Ark.

The Bible never specifically mentioned whether insects were brought into the ark but Genesis 6: 19-20 did say, “…two of all living creatures, male and female….Two of every kind of bird, of every kind of animal and of every kind of creature that moves along the ground will come to you to be kept alive.”

Hm…if it were true that insects were included, of all sizes and types, I wonder how Moses’ Noah’s (edit at 1:11am on a Friday night/Saturday morning, thanks to a very observant friend and faithful blog reader!) wife and daughters-in-law managed to not be squeamish and put up with all that for one hundred and fifty days and possibly another fifty-seven, waiting for the waters to recede.   These merely fake ones already are pretty effective at giving me the shudders!

Sometimes in the middle of cleaning the rooms, I discover little gems left behind by the children. This Friday series was started with the intention of celebrating the imagination and creativity in a young child’s world…and hoping that it’ll bring a little ray of inspiration and joy to your day, as it does mine.

Ahahahahaha! This is what I get for typing at 12:45am on a Thursday night/Friday morning. Your comment cracked me up totally after an incredibly horrendous long-houred work week. Thanks H 😉
