The Dining Room – Sheraton Hotel

We brought my parents to a lunch buffet at The Dining Room at Sheraton Towers, to celebrate my mother’s birthday. Situated along a quieter stretch of Scotts Road, it’s a beautiful place with a full glass high-ceiling room, surrounded by lush landscaped gardens, cascading waterfalls and tranquil rock pools.

The waitstaff were very attentive to our needs, and the kids enjoyed tremendously the selection from the live pasta, fruit and desserts and hot food stations.

Top L to R - broccoli and cauliflower with melted cheddar, ratatouille, Irish lamb stew, Asian style collard greens, wild rice pilaf with water chestnut and mushrooms, beef stroganoff, coriander chicken wings

About two hours after we’d first arrived, the sunny weather turned stormy. It brought back memories of my single days when I used to love nothing better than curling up in bed on rainy afternoons with a fully-stocked fridge and a good supply of engaging books by my side.

Ah. If it weren’t for the fact that the kids needed their naps, I would have loved to sit there all afternoon, enjoying the sights and sounds of the rainpour creating ripples in the rock pools while safely ensconced indoors in a comfortable chair with the Sunday papers.

And a couple of trips every now and then to the dessert station for the delectable little cakes and sweet treats.  😉

The Dining Room serves an international buffet spread with a wide selection of Western and Asian cuisine on Saturdays and Sundays.
Price: $32.80++ per pax, children below 6 dine for free.
Location: 39 Scotts Road
Phone: 6839-5621.
